Board 41 is the local chapter of the international organization IAABO, who educates and certifies officials worldwide. Once fully certified you will be able to obtain work in a multitude of leagues, including working middle and high school level games for Nassau County Boces. The course will consist of 2 parts, a hybrid format rules course followed by an online and on court mechanics training class. The rules course consists of 20 easy to follow on-line lessons, which will be reinforced with 6 classroom sessions, yet to be scheduled (recommended but not mandatory). At the completion of this part of the course you will need to pass an on-line 50 question exam (passing grade is 80%). This portion of the class will start in late April/early May, with the final exam being given in mid to late June. One you pass the rules exam you will move to an online mechanics course which will be supplemented with 2 or 3 court sessions where we will go over proper court positioning and mechanics. There will be another exam following the completion of this part of the course that must be completed. After completion of both parts of the course you will become a provisional member with full membership pending until additional Board 41 requirements are met including participation in HS basketball scrimmages as well as attendance at 3 varsity games during the beginning ofthe 2025-2026 HS season.
